To obtain a therapeutic composition which is useful in diagnosis and treatment for tumors by compounding a specific component and allowing a tumor-imaging agent or an antitumor agent to flow in a dense tumor and localize in the tumor.
This tumor-treating composition is prepared by compounding vesiculation lipid and a liposome comprising 1-20mol% of an amphiphilic vesiculation lipid derived with a hydrophilic polymer selected from polyethylene glycol, poly(lactic acid), poly(glycolic acid) and poly(lactic acid)/poly(glycolic acid). The hydrophilic polymer preferably has a Dalton molecular weight of about 1,000-5,000. In this composition, a tumor-imaging agent or an antitumor agent (for example, an anthracyclic antibiotic) is incorporated into the liposome and about 80% of an antimumor agent is in the form that it is included in the liposome.
