Title:
THERMAL BARRIER FILM FOR SUPERALLOY PRODUCT, AND FORMATION OF THE FILM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3905964
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of harmful transition metal elements, in a base material made of super alloy, reaching an oxide layer and to prolong the service life of a thermal barrier film.
SOLUTION: A multilayered thermal barrier film 42 for a superalloy product 40 is constituted of a metallic matrix film 44 containing many grains 46, an MCrAlY alloy bond film (M:Ni, Co, Fe) 48 on the above, a thin oxide layer 50 on the above, and a thermal barrier film 52 made of ceramics of columnar grain structure. At this time, the metallic matrix film 44 is composed of an alloy consisting of, by weight, 80% nickel and 20% chromium. The grain is composed of a substance selected from proper metal compounds, such as carbides, oxides, borides, and nitrides, reacting with harmful transition metals, such as titanium, tantalum, and hafnium, in the base material made of superalloy. An example of the proper compound is chromium carbide, and harmful transition metal elements participate in the exchange reaction with chromium in the chromium carbide to form a carbide in which harmful transition metal elements are stabilized.
