Abstract:
To provide a thermal printer using chromatic beams of light and infrared rays for identifying pigment regions of an ink sheet.
An ink sheet has many pigment region sets. Each pigment region set includes a yellow region, a magenta region and a cyan region, having a black mark arranged to a start part of the cyan region. The black mark does not pass infrared rays. The thermal printer further has an infrared ray source/infrared ray sensor for detecting the black mark and a blue light source/ blue light sensor (or yellow light source/yellow light sensor) for detecting the pigment regions.
