Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal conductivity variable device which can suitably control thermal conductivity without causing a structural change resulting from the changeover of the thermal conductivity, and a voltage control device.SOLUTION: A thermal conductivity variable device comprises: a terminal conductivity variable element 2 in which metal and a semiconductor having electronic affinity χS[eV] which is not smaller than a work function of the metal are joined to each other; voltage application means 4 which applies a voltage to the thermal conductivity variable element 2; determination means 5 which determines whether or not it is necessary to raise the thermal conductivity of the thermal conductivity variable element 2; and voltage control means which sets a work function of the semiconductor at φS[eV], also sets an elementary electric charge at e[C], and applies a voltage not lower than (φS-χS)/e[V] to the terminal conductivity variable element 2 by using the voltage application means 4 when the determination means 5 determines that it is necessary to raise the terminal conductivity of the thermal conductivity variable element 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
