Title:
THERMAL FUSE AND INSIDE MOUNTING STRUCTURE OF THERMAL FUSE IN BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3878733
Kind Code:
B
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the inside mounting of a thermal fuse while ensuring the sealing property to electrolyte by superposing two ring electrodes having terminals on the inside through a spacer, and connecting a thermal fuse body between both the terminals mutually isolated in the ring circumferential direction.
SOLUTION: Upper and lower ring electrodes 11, 12 have terminals 110, 120 on the inside, and a punched produce of a metal foil such as copper alloy foil, aluminum alloy foil or Ni foil is used therefor. A ring insulating spacer 2 is formed of a heat resisting plastic film or ceramic sheet, and the ring electrodes 11, 12 are superposed through the insulating spacer 2 to isolate both the terminals 110, 120 at an angle of about 180°. The interface between the insulating spacer 2 and the ring electrodes 11, 12 is integrated by adhesive adhesion. A thermal fuse body 3 is formed by connecting a low melting point fusible alloy piece between lead conductors, applying a flux thereto, inserting it in an insulating cylinder, and sealing both the ends. The heating by abnormal temperature of a battery is prevented by the fuse element, and the sealing property of electrolyte is ensured.
