The thermal head X includes: a substrate 7 having a rectangular shape in plan view; a heat generating part 9 provided at a first end face 7a that is one end face in the substrate 7; and first electrode wiring 19 having one end connected to the heat generating part 9 and extended from a part on the first end face 7a of the substrate 7 over one major surface of the substrate 7. On the first end face 7a of the substrate 7, the first electrode wiring 19 becomes thinner as it approaches the heat generating part 9.
