Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head, to be connected easily with a set owing to its small size.
SOLUTION: This device comprises a first ground electrode 15 provided on an insulating film 21 disposed on an individual electrode 8 led out from a heat generating resistor 6, a second ground electrode 18 connected with a driving IC 9, and a connecting electrode 22 for electrically connecting the first ground electrode and the second electrode, across the adjacent driving ICs, wherein the size from the short side 4 of an insulated substrate closer to right and left both end dots in an effective printing width region of the heat generating resistor 6 is provided such that one dot side size is made larger than the other dot side size, with an external connection terminal 14 disposed in a concentrated manner on the longer side end part of the insulated substrate on the larger side, and a signal wiring 13 to be connected with the external connection terminal disposed below the driving IC row as well as between the connection pads of the driving IC 9 and the individual electrode 8.
