Title:
THERMAL HEAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04276463
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To form a heat generating thin film having dot pattern with high density on an end face of a substrate so as to print clearly by superposing two insulating substrates.

CONSTITUTION: On both faces of insulating substrates 10 and 14, conductive copper patterns 20 and common electrode copper thin films 30 are formed respectively, which are connected by a heat generating thin film 40 made by forming the conductive copper pattern 20 and the common electrode copper thin film 30 on end faces of the insulating substrates 10 and 14. The heat generating body 40 is divided into a plurality of dot partitions at a predetermined pitch. The insulating substrates 10 and 14 are superposed in a state that respective dot partitions are deviated from each other by a half pitch. The superposed insulating substrates 10 and 14 are interposed by radiating bodies 42 and 43 from both sides. Since a thermal head is constituted of one set of 2 sheets, the pitch of the dot pattern of the heat generating body 40 to be formed on individual insulating substrates 10 and 14 can be high, so that dot pattern with high density can be formed and manufacture thereof will be easy.
