Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily execute work such as replacement of an ink ribbon, without causing wrinkles in the ink ribbon.SOLUTION: A thermal printer 100 comprises a head unit 9 for holding a thermal head 1 and in which one end side thereof is rockably supported by a first rocking shaft 15 and that is movable to a head closing position and a head opening position, and a ribbon abutting member 16 in which one end side thereof is rockably supported by a second rocking shaft 17, and that is provided on a further downstream side of a printing medium 2 than a printing part 3 in a carrying direction in a carrying passage of an ink ribbon 5 so as to be movable to a ribbon abutting position and a ribbon opening position, and the ribbon abutting member 16 is provided in a position where the ink ribbon 5 abuts on the ribbon abutting member 16 without abutting on the thermal head 1 and the head unit 9 when the head unit 9 is located at the head opening position and the ribbon abutting member 16 is located at the ribbon abutting position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
