Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable thermal protection device for protecting an electronic apparatus from an abnormal temperature state as thermal runaway with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: The thermal protection device includes: a first switch 41 which is connected in series to a power supply circuit from a power source to an apparatus main unit therebetween; a cut-off unit 42 that controls ON-OFF operation of the first switch; a current fuse 43 with one end connect to the power supply circuit to the apparatus main unit; a second switch 44 connected to the other end of the current fuse; and a control unit 45 that controls ON-OFF operation of the second switch on the basis of a temperature detection signal from a temperature detection element. When the temperature detection signal represents an abnormal heating, the control unit controls the second switch to turn ON to flow a current on the current fuse to fuse the same. When the current fuse is fused, the cut-off unit sets the first switch to an OFF state to shut off the power supply circuit.
