To provide a thermal protector, which is to be built in a motor and which can inform an outside worker that the main circuit of the motor is cut off due to operation of itself, a motor protector, a submerged pump device, and a manhole pumping device.
This motor protector is equipped with the above thermal protector 10 which is built in the motor and has main contacts (fixed contacts 13 and 13 and mobile contacts 15 and 15) that operate to open when the temperature reaches a specified temperature, sensing the excessive value of the current flowing to the motor or the rise of ambient temperature. It is constituted to break the main circuit which applies a current to the main coil MC of the motor when the main contact of the thermal protector openes. It is equipped with auxiliary contacts (fixed contacts 21, 21, and mobile contacts 15 and 15) which close when the main circuit of the thermal protector 10 opens, and it informs the outside worker that the main circuit of the motor is cut off by the closing of the auxiliary contacts.
