Title:
THERMAL RECORDING MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1178236
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve blocking resistance to a protective layer surface while an adhesiveness to a remoistening size layer is excellent by a method wherein a Bekk smoothness on the remoistening size layer containing a remoistening size is specified. SOLUTION: A Bekk smoothness on a remoistening size layer surface is made to have 50 to 1000 sec. In the case of under 50 sec in the Bekk smoothness, when an amount of water in remoistening is little, adhesiveness of the remoistening size layer may remarkably be decreased. Further, in the case of over 1000 sec, when a thermal recording material is finished in a coiled state, the remoistening size layer surface may be stuck to a protective layer surface (blocking). For a method in which the Bekk smoothness is made 50 to 1000 sec, it is preferable that two or more kinds of remoistening sizes which are incompatible with each other are jointly used, or a pigment is added. Then, as the rehumidifying size, joint use of polyvinyl alcohol and a starch derivative such as starch or oxidized starch, esterified starch, etc., is preferable because of excellent blocking resistance.
