PURPOSE: To obtain the thermal recording material which is improved in terms of the lowering of reservability as color forming constituents turn to be fine and of pressure color development by making a color-removing agent exist in a supporting body and between the supporting body and a thermodeveloped layer.

CONSTITUTION: In the thermal recording material wherein the thermodeveloped layer containing colorless or lightly-colored leuco-dye (e.g. crystal violet lactone, etc.) and acid material developing the leuco-dye by heating (e.g. bisphenol A, etc.) is provided on the supporting body such as paper, the color-removing agent is made to exist in the supporting body and/or between the supporting body and the thermodevelopd layer. As the color-removing agent, the alkylene oxide additive of bisphenol and the like, methylolamido and bisamido, etc. whose melting point is 110°C or above are shown as examples. This color-removing agent is made to exist in the supporting body by mixing the same in a size liquid, or a color-removing layer is formed by applying the agent to the supporting body.
