PURPOSE: To obtain a stable image by enhancing the ink intensity of a coloring material layer, by using a thermoplastic resin having good adhesiveness and strong cohesion power in the coloring material layer on a transfer substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer material 1 is constituted by forming a coloring material layer 5 on a substrate 2. The substrate 2 is constituted of a film substrate 3 such as a usual polymer film and a lubricating heat resistant treatment layer 4. The coloring material layer 5 is constituted of coloring matter 6 such as pigment or a dye, carrier particles 7 and a thermoplastic resin 8 bonding said components and having desired characteristics. As the film substrate 3, a polyethylene terephthalate film with a thickness of 4W12μm is used. As the internally plasticized thermoplastic resin having good adhesiveness to the PET film, strong flocculation force and a softening point of 130°C or less, a linear saturated polyester resin is most suitable.
