Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-recovering method in pyrolytic process of 1,2- dichloroethane by effectively recovering retaining heat of outlet gas (decomposition gas) of a decomposition furnace containing vinyl chloride monomer from the decomposition furnace by using a heat exchanger additionally installed in the decomposition furnace for obtaining vinyl chloride monomer by pyrolyzing 1,2-dichloroethane and carrying out heating (heat exchange) of 1,2-dichloroethane.
SOLUTION: Liquid 1,2-dichloroethane is fed to a convective heat transfer part 1a of a decomposition furnace and heated and the heated intermediate flow of 1,2-dichloroethane is introduced into a radiative heat transfer part 1b of the decomposition furnace 1 and heated to pyrolyze at least part of 1,2- dichloroethane to vinyl chloride monomer. When the decomposition gas containing the vinyl chloride monomer is discharged from the decomposition furnace, the intermediate flow is introduced into a heat exchanger 10 installed on the outside of the decomposition furnace 1 to thermally exchange the intermediate flow to the decomposition gas. Then, the thermally exchanged intermediate flow is fed to the radiative heat transfer part 1b and retaining heat of the decomposition gas in pyrolysis process of 1,2-dichloroethane is recovered.
