Abstract:
To provide a thin and wide superconducting magnet thermal shield hardly causing the temperature difference.
The superconducting magnet thermal shield 11 provided between a cryogenic container 9 for housing a superconducting coil 6 with a coolant 8 and a vacuum vessel 15 held vacuum inside for housing the cryogenic container 9 covers the container 9, and is cooled with a cooling source 16. It has opposed plates 12, 13 apart from each other and a coolant gas 14 inserted between the opposed plates 12, 13. The top of the coolant gas 14 is cooled with a cooling source 16 to cause such natural convection of the gas 14 as rising after lowering along the plates 12, 13.
