To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet, excellent in recording sensitivity, capable of forming an image having high density as well as a distinct image without causing fusion welding to a thermal transfer recording sheet upon thermal transfer recording, not generating the variability of density and excellent in the preserving property as well as the light resistant property of a recorded image.
In a thermal transfer image receptive sheet, consisting of a substrate sheet and a dye receptive layer formed on at least one side of the same sheet, the dye receptive layer contains polycarbonate resin as the principal constituent thereof and, further, contains a mold release agent. In another case, the dye receptive layer contains the product of cure reaction of polycarbonate resin and crosslinking agent as the principal constituent thereof and, further, contains the mold release agent. The dye receptive layer contains further a thermoplastic resin other than the polycarbonate resin.
