Title:
THERMAL TRANSFER MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61132386
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To print sharp images with high density even on a recording medium poor in surface smoothness, by using a heat-transferrable ink layer of two-layer composite structure in which the upper layer is in a corrugated form.

CONSTITUTION: The thermal transfer material 11 comprises the heat- transferrable ink layer 13 on an ordinarily sheet form base 12. The ink layer 13 has a two-layer composite structure comprising the first ink layer 13a and the second ink layer 13b provided in this order from the base side. The first ink layer is provided by using a crystalline heat-fusible binder, while the second ink layer 13b provided on the layer 13a is heated and cooled, whereby the rugged pattern of the surface of the first ink layer appears at the surface of the second ink layer. The binder used for providing the second ink layer must have cohesive force higher than that in the first ink layer.
