To realize the manufacturing of a thermal transfer medium by an improved and simplified method by a method wherein a binder consists of a thermoplastic resin derived from a monomer, an oligomer or their mixture, which has a softening point and a Tg value having below a specified value, which hardens by UV or light and is photopolymerizable, and a photo-initiator.
A transfer medium is equipped with a board and a thermal transfer layer made of a UV- or visible-light curing paint. The curing paint consists of a sensible material and a binder having a softening point below 300°C and a Tg below 270°C and made of a thermoplastic resin derived from a monomer, an oligomer or their mixture, which hardens by UV or light and is photopolymerizable, and a photo-initiator. In order to manufacture the heat transfer medium, a liquid paint is applied onto the support board with a coating device so as to form a liquid layer below 50°C in order to harden the liquid layer of the paint, resulting in starting the reaction of the heat transfer layer made of a photopolymerizable monomer and/or oligomer by exposing the paint to an ultraviolet light or a visible light for forming a solid layer.
