Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a thermal transfer printer which can be manufactured at a low cost wherein various devices can be driven by a small number of motors and all control circuits are simplified.
CONSTITUTION: A head up-and-down mechanism for contacting and separating a thermal head 11 to and from a platen 1, a take-up bobbin drive means for rotating a take-up bobbin 14 so as to take up an ink ribbon 70, and a cassette stage drive means for reciprocating a cassette stage 12 in a direction to contact and separate to and from a ribbon cassette holding section are driven by one and the same motor as a drive source.
