PURPOSE: To enable to replace an ink sheet extremely easily, by enabling a supplying roll and a take-up roll to be fitted and detached by a roll fitting and detaching mechanism comprising an operating member.

CONSTITUTION: An operating member 63 is protruded to the outside of a chassis through a slot 62h provided in a holding member 62d at a predetermined angle against a supporting shaft 62f. In the condition wherein the supplying roll 51 and the take-up roll 52 are fitted, the operating member 63 is located in the slot 62h at a position on the inside of the printer, and a roll-holding means 62a is supported rotatably relative to the shaft 62f while being given a predetermined thrust by a spring 62e through a friction clutch 62b and a spring-supporting plate 62c. Accordingly, when an operating lever 63 is turned, the lever 63 is moved rightwards by a distance l along the slot 62h, so that the means 62a is moved rightward by the shaft 62f, whereby each of the rolls 51, 52 can be fitted and detached.
