Title:
THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63270178
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable a printing free from an ink-peeling from a paper and to eliminate a reverse image on an ink ribbon, by a method wherein, a hot-melt ink is thermally fixed by bringing the recording paper into contact with the peripheral surface of a thermal fixing roller on the side of rotating in the same direction as a recording paper forward direction, and the hot-melt ink is melted and dispersed by bringing the ink ribbon into contact with the roller on the side of rotating reverse to an ink ribbon forward direction.

CONSTITUTION: With the supply of image information to a thermal printing head 1, a heating resistor of the thermal printing head 1 generates heat according to the image information, whereby a corresponding ink on an ink ribbon melts to be applied to a recording paper 3; in this manner, a thermal transfer is performed between the thermal printing head 1 and a pressure roller 2. The recording paper 3 is fed to between a thermal fixing roller 5 and a feed roller 6 and depressed and heated; thus, the applied ink infiltrates into the recording paper. On the other hand, an ink ribbon 4 is set so that the ink surface faces the thermal fixing roller 5 and fed to the thermal fixing roller 5 on the opposite side of the feed roller 6 to be fed reverse to the peripherally moving direction of the thermal fixing roller 5. The thermal fixing roller 5 rubs the ink ribbon 4, whereby the transfer image on the ribbon is erased.
