Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer printing device which can prevent leak of residual images from a used ink ribbon, and to provide a thermal transfer printing method.SOLUTION: A thermal transfer printing device according to the invention includes: a supply part 3 which supplies an ink ribbon 5; a print part 10 which uses the ink ribbon supplied from the supply part to thermally transfer an ink onto print paper; a recovery part 4 which takes up and recovers the used ink ribbon after thermal transfer; a flip part 20 which flips the print paper upside down; and a control part 18 which controls the print part to perform a first print processing in which the ink is thermally transferred from the ink ribbon to a first surface of the print paper to form a first image and a second print processing in which the ink is thermally transferred from the used ink ribbon to a second surface of the print paper flipped upside down by the flip part to form a second image different from the first image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
