Abstract:
To provide a thermal transfer printer for making interpretation of an ink-omitted image remaining in a color ink ribbon after transfer difficult.SOLUTION: A plurality of superposition images corresponding to a sublimation ink layer of a plurality of colors of a colar ink ribbon 10 are generated. The color ink ribbon is carried so that a molten ink layer of a specific black color after transfer overlaps in order with respective layers of the sublimation ink layer of the plurality of colors after the transfer. When the molten ink layer of the specific black color after the transfer overlaps with the respective layers of the sublimation ink layer of the plurality of colors after the transfer, the molten ink layer of the specific black color after the transfer is heated according to the superposition image corresponding to its overlapped layer, so that the superposition image superscribed on an ink-omitted image remaining in the molten ink layer of the specific black color after the transfer is transferred to the overlapped layer. A plurality of superposition images are superscribed in order on the ink-omitted image, and are thereby transferred to all of the sublimation ink layers of the plurality of colors after the transfer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 24
