Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform preliminarily the running-out of an ink ribbon to a user without using an expensive sensor.
SOLUTION: The outline of the constitution of the vicinity 69a of a terminal section on the side of a ribbon feed drum 61 for an ink ribbon 69 is described in the figure. Thick ink sections 69b applying ink of thickness similar to those of other sections of the ink ribbon 69 and thin ink sections 69c applying ink thinner than those of thick ink sections 69b are formed in the strip shape alternately in the carrying direction of the ink ribbon 69 in the vicinity 69a of the terminal section. When the ink ribbon 69 is carried close to the vicinity 69a of the terminal section, an image on which thick ink sections and thin ink sections are provided in the strip shape is formed by the arrangement. A user can come to know that the ink ribbon 69 is running out soon when the strip- shaped image is formed by the arrangement.
