Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an ink for conducting thermal transfer recording on a glass paper or a plastic film and can be used for display and recording materials, etc., by mixing a photochromic spirooxazine compound with a resin binder.

CONSTITUTION: A thermal transfer recording ink containing a photochromic spirooxazine compound and a resin binder. Examples of said photochromic compounds used include compounds of the formula (wherein R is H or methyl, R1, R2 and R3 are each an alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or alkenyl, R2 and R3 may be combined together to form a ring, and the rings X and Y represent carbocyclic or heterocyclic aromatic rings. Examples of said resin binders used include cellulosic, acrylic acid and water-soluble starch resins and organic solvent-soluble resins such as acrylic resins and polystyrene resins.
