To provide a thermal transfer sheet that is a photographic printing paper by a thermal transfer image receiving sheet formed by transfer from the thermal transfer sheet, can lengthen a smell generation duration, and can properly change a smell generation part and smell emission strength, and to provide a thermal transfer recording material comprising the thermal transfer image receiving sheet.
The thermal transfer recording material 1 comprises: a thermal transfer sheet 2 that is provided with a transfer layer 5 that contains at least a binder and a plasticizer on a base material sheet 4; and a thermal transfer image receiving sheet 3 that is provided with at least the binder and a receiving layer 7 that contains a microcapsule that involves the inorganic oxide that adsorbs a smell component on a base material 6. As a result, the smell component been adsorbed in the inorganic oxide is discharged from the microcapsule by the action of the plasticizer transferred from the transfer layer 5, in the microcapsule contained in the receiving layer 7, by transferring the transfer layer 5 in an arbitrary position of the receiving layer 7 of the thermal transfer image receiving sheet 3.
