Abstract:

PURPOSE: To ensure sufficient max. density and to obtain an image excellent in stability by using azomethine coloring matter represented by a specific formula and a metal ion-containing compd. in a thermal transfer recording material in combination.

CONSTITUTION: In a thermal transfer recording material forming an image having sufficient density, azomethine coloring matter represented by formula (wherein A is an aromatic ring or a heterocyclic ring, D is a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring, B is a non-metal atom group necessary for forming an aromatic ring or a heterocyclic ring, X1 and X2 are a carbon atom or a nitrogen atom and, when X2 is a carbon atom, n is 1 and, when X2 is a nitrogen atom, n is 0 and G is a hydrogen atom, an amino group or a hydroxy group) and a metal ion-containing compd. are used in combination. A coloring matter donating material containing the azomethine coloring matter and an image receiving material containing the metal ion-containing compd. are laminated to be heated corresponding to image data and peeled to perform thermal transfer recording.
