Title:
THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING METHOD AND THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING INK SHEET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000203167
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide high picture quality and superior image storage properties, form a highly glossy image even when high heat energy is applied, make the high picture quality and high image storage properties compatible with the formation of highly glossy image even when the high heat energy is applied to a thermal head in the formation of the image by the sublimation heat transfer method using a chelate reaction type dye.

In a thermal transfer recording method, an ink layer of an ink sheet having at least one ink layer containing a heat diffusing dye and formed on a substrate is so overlapped on an image receiving layer of an image receiving sheet having at least one image receiving layer on a separate substrate as to face each other, and a dye is transferred onto the image receiving layer by heating the overlapped layers in the form of an image, and then at least the whole of an area whereon the dye is transferred by re-heating by the thermal head to form an image on the image receiving sheet, the non-power application time intervals are set at the given value so that the temperature of a resistor surface of the thermal head in the re-heating is not lowered down to 1/3 or lower of the peak temperature.
