Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide arc-quenching coating applied to the constitutional part of a current interrupter exposed to an arc.

CONSTITUTION: Modified coating containing a urethane, melamine or acrylic resin as a binder and also containing an inorg. nitride such as boron nitride, aluminum nitride or silicon nitride is effective as an arc-quenching material for a current interrupter. A coating compsn. also containing an org. compd. with a high nitrogen content such as urea, hydantoin, allantoin, guanidine carbonate, guanine, melamine cyanurate or 1,3-diphenyl quanidine other than urethane, melamine and the above-mentioned inorg. nitride is also effective as the arc- quenching material for the current interrupter.
