PURPOSE: To improve the light resistance by a constitution wherein a thermochromic layer made by dispersing and fixing a specified thermochromic material in a binder is provided on the surface of a base material, and a layer of a pigment with metallic luster made by dispersing and fixing a pigment with metallic luster in a binder is laminated thereon.
CONSTITUTION: 0.5-40wt.% thermochromic material consisting of an electron-donating color-forming organic compound, an electron-accepting compound, and an organic compound medium reversibly causing color-forming reaction is dispersed in a binder and applied to the surface of a base material of sporting goods to form a thermochromic layer having a lightness volue of at most 6 in the color-developed state and that of at least 8 in the color-exinguished state. A pigment selected from, e.g. a pigment of golden metallic luster which is made by coating natural mica with 41-44wt.% TiO2 to form a coating layer of 180-240nm in optical thickness and has a particle diameter of 5-60μm and a pigment of silvery metallic luster which is made by coating natural mica with 16-39wt.% TiO2 to form a coating layer of 110-170nm in optical thickness and has a particle diameter of 5-100μm, is dispersed in a binder and applied onto the thermochromic layer to form a layer having metallic luster thereon, thus giving the objective thermochromic sporting goods with metallic luster.
