Title:
THERMOCOUPLE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013234950
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a thermocouple having a fast response speed (a short response time) and capable of enabling application as a highly reliable temperature sensor easily arranged to a narrow place or space by improving handleability, durability and environmental resistance in an extra fine wire thermocouple having an outer diameter of 100 μm or less, and a manufacturing method thereof.

A thermocouple includes a thermocouple element wire having an outer diameter of 100 μm or less, and an inorganic insulator coating layer whose thickness is 0.1-3 μm on the surface of the thermocouple element wire. In a salt water spray test that is performed in conformity to JIS H2371 and after the thermocouple is left for 24 h, the inorganic insulator coating layer is a dense coating layer such that salt water corrosion or separation from the thermocouple element wire is not observed.
