Abstract:

To provide a thermoelectric conversion material which is not weathered, and exhibits high thermoelectric conversion characteristics stably at about 300-600°C, while having high physical strength and excellent durability, stability and reliability by using high purity silicon as a material, and to provide a thermoelectric conversion element and a production method for thermoelectric conversion material.

The thermoelectric conversion material is composed of a sintered compact principally comprising magnesium silicide (Mg2Si) of polycrystalline structure, containing at least one element out of As, Sb, P, Al and B, as a dopant. Silicon component of the magnesium silicide is high purity silicon, and unreacting silicon and magnesium are not detected in the thermoelectric conversion material, and silicon oxide and magnesium oxide do not exist therein.
