Title:
THERMOELECTRIC CONVERSION MATERIAL FOR TITANIUM OXIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006100683
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an n-type thermoelectric conversion material which has a high performance index in thermoelectric conversion and is comprised of a titanium oxide.

The n-type thermoelectric conversion material is comprised of non-stoichiometric titanium-oxide of the molecular formula TiOx, wherein 1.89≤x<1.94 or 1.94<x<2.00, in a crystal structure indicating peaks at positions of 26.0°±0.3°, 26.8°±0.3°, 27.9°±0.1° and 28.2°±0.1° in an X-ray diffraction pattern. The process for producing the n-type thermoelectric conversion material comprises the steps of molding a titanium compound, holding and sintering the same under the conditions when the hydrogen concentration is ≥1 vol.% but <5 vol.%, at the temperature of 1,000 to 1,400°C, and at the time period of 1 to 10 hr, and when the hydrogen concentration is in the range of 5 to 100 vol.%, at the temperature of 950 to 1,050°C, and at the time period of 10 min to 5 hr.
