Abstract:
Provided is a thermoelectric power generating apparatus, which enables thermoelectric power generating element modules to exhibit their intrinsic thermoelectric power generating abilities sufficiently even when a heat recovering member is thermally expanded or contracted in the radial direction by the fluctuation of the calorie to be recovered by a heat recovering member. When the flange portions (21B and 21B) of hot-side finned heat flow plates (21 and 21) constituting each thermoelectric power generating unit (20) are thermally expanded or contracted and inclined in the radial direction by the fluctuation of the exhaust calorie of an internal combustion engine, the hot ends of a p-type thermoelectric power generating element (P) and an n-type thermoelectric power generating element (N) of thermoelectric power generating element modules (23 and 23) are reliably pushed to make individual flat contacts with hot-side electrodes (23A and 23A), as the floor pistons (24A and 24A) of a floor piston assembly (24) tilt, so that they slide in this state relative to each other in the radial directions of the flange portions (21B and 21B). As a result, the thermoelectric power generating element modules (23 and 23) exhibit their intrinsic thermoelectric power generating capacities sufficiently.
