Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thermoelectric material having high performance index. SOLUTION: A thermoelectric material manufacturing device 100 comprises, in a vacuum bath 18, a heating vessel 14 which is wound with a high-frequency heating coil 10 and comprises a nozzle 12 at its tip end, and a water-cooled metal disc 16 which is water-cooled by a circulating water whose temperature is controlled to a constant temperature. Outside the vacuum bath 18, a motor 20 connected mechanically to the water-cooled metal disc 16 is provided, with the motor 20 revolving the water-cooled metal disc 16 at a specified revolution speed. A BiTe alloy molten liquid 22 coated on the surface of water-cooled metal disc 16 by the nozzle 12 spreads as a thin film in radial direction (a) on the surface of water-cooled metal disc. By repeating coating of the BiTe alloy molten liquid, a thermoelectric material of laminating structure is manufactured. The thermoelectric material has less impurity entrained. Small crystal grain size and high filling coefficient allow a thermoelectric material of high index.
