To provide a highly responsive thermoelement by improving sealability of a thermal expansion body made of a thermoelement paraffin, thereby making leakage of the thermal expansion body difficult, and by smoothly converting the volume expansion of the thermal expansion body into linear motion.
The thermoelement includes: a cylindrical case (1) with a bottom; a thermal expansion body (2) which is filled into the case and includes paraffin expanded/contracted by a temperature change; a piston (6) moved in an axial direction by the expansion/contraction of the thermal expansion body; and a guide member (5) for freely slidably holding the piston. Between the thermal expansion body and the piston, a gum fluid layer (4) comprising a freely deformable incompressible fluid body is provided.
