The operation of a refrigerating apparatus can be carried out by the two kinds of operation methods that are a two refrigerant system and a single stage refrigerant system by a high temperature wide cycle by means of equipping the refrigerating apparatus with two series of coolers and connecting those respectively to the low temperature side cycle and the high temperature side cycle. Also, in any operating methods, the cooling capacity of the refrigerating apparatus is adjustable by inverter-controlling a compressor of the high temperature side cycle. Further, the operation, in which the cooler connected to the high temperature side cycle is used as a condenser, can be carried out.
