Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity in sheet formation without detriment to the characteristics inherent in an elastomer by compounding a thermoplastic vinyl chloride-urethane elastomer with an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic vinyl chloride-urethane elastomer is pref. one obtd. by subjecting a polyvinyl chloride resin, a polymer polyl, a compd. having at least three isocyanate groups, a plasticizer and a urethanizing reaction catalyst to thermal melt mixing and urethanizing reaction. A vinyl chloride homopolymer or copolymer or a chlorinated vinyl chloride polymer is used as the vinyl chloride resin, one produced by suspension polymn. being pref. Pref., the molar ratio of NCO groups of the isocyanate compd. to OH groups of the polymer polyol (as a diol) is 0.5-1.1. Pref., the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer has a vinyl acetate content of 50% or higher and is compounded pref. in an am. of 3-15 wt.% of the thermoplastic elastomer.
