Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a compsn. which shows a good transparency and a relatively high viscosity and does not exude by consisting of a polyether type thermoplastic elastomer compsn. having a matter extractable with ethanol in an specific amt. or less.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A thermoplastic elastomer comprising a polyether block, and a polyamide block or a polyester unit and (B) a copolymer of ethylene/ unsatd. acid ester/unsatd. dicarboxylic anhydride in an amt. enough to prevent exudation (e.g. an ethylene/acrylate ester/maleic anhydride copolymer or a copolymer of ethylene/unsatd. acid ester/unsatd. glycidyl monomer) are mixed together. The blending ratio is pref. 90 pts.wt. of component A compared with 10 pts.wt. or less of component B. This will provide a polyether type thermoplastic elastomer-base compsn. having a matter extractable with ethanol in an amt. less than a value sufficient to prevent exudation, pref. less than 3.5 wt.%.
