To obtain a mixture contg. carbamic acid deriv. of a polysaccharide and a low-molecular urea deriv., and capable of forming not only moldings, fibers, and films but also foams or coating materials.
This mixture contains a uniformly substd. polysaccharide deriv. having a general structure: polysaccharide-O-R {wherein 'polysaccharide-O' represents a (substd.) polysaccharide unit, and R is a substituent of the polysaccharide-OH group and represents -A-B- or -B [in which A is a linear polyether chain of the formula: (-D-O)n (in which D is a (non)branched 2-12C linear aliphatic chain and n is ≥1); and B is a substd. carbamic acid of the formula (in which E is a 1-18C linear or branched aliphatic group)]} and a low-molecular 1-20C symmetric or asymmetric aliphatic urea deriv. or a mixture of such derivs. A solvent containing the mixture is removed and the mixture is used as a thermoplastic material to be injection-molded or extruded. Not only moldings, fibers and films, but also foams or coating materials can be produced from the mixture.
