This thermoplastic resin composition for the golf ball cover material contains 100 pts.wt. of an aromatic vinyl compound-conjugate diene compound based copolymer, 0 to 240 pts.wt. of a rubber softener, 0 to 100 pts.wt. of a peroxide crosslinking type olefin based resin, 0 to 100 pts.wt. of a peroxide resoluble type olefin based resin, 0 to 30 pts.wt. of a liquid polybutadiene, 0 to 150 pts.wt. of an unsaturated glycidyl compound, 0 to 15 pts.wt. of an unsaturated carboxylic acid, 0 to 15 pts.wt. of a (meth)acrylate based compound having a hydroxyl group, and also, 0 to 3.5 pts.wt. of an organic peroxide based on the total of 100 pts.wt. of the above mentioned substances, and in addition, 0 to 1,500 pts.wt. of at least one compound which is selected from the group comprising polyester, polyurethane, polyamide, and polymethylpentene.
