Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition having excellent ultraviolet absorptivity and high compatibility with thermoplastic resins, free from the troubles of the dissolution and blessing-out of ultraviolet absorber and capable of exhibiting excellent whether resistance over a long periodwits by using a specific ultraviolet-absorbing copolymer as a component of the composition.
SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) an ultraviolet-absorbing copolymer produced by copolymerizing a monomer composition containing (A1) an ultraviolet-absorbing monomer expressed by formula I [R1 is H or a 1-8C hydrocarbon group; R2 is a1-6C (brlanced) alkylene; R3 is H or methyl; X is R1, a halogen, a 1-4C alkoxy, etc.] or formula II (R4 is a 2-3C (branched) alkylene; R5 is R3) and (A2) an ultraviolet-stable monomer of formula III (R2 is H or cyano; R7 and R8 are each H or a 1-2C hydrocarbon group; R9 is H or a 1-18C hydrocarbon group; Y is O or imino) or formula IV and (B) a thermoplastic resin. The amount of the component A is preferably 0.005-10wt.% based on the component B.
