Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition comprising a maleimide copolymer and a methacrylic copolymer, excellent in optical properties such as transparency, moldability, mechanical properties and heat resistance, having excellent low water absorbability and useful for optical molded products, etc.
SOLUTION: This thermoplastic resin composition comprises (A) a maleimide copolymer produced from (i) 50-80wt.% of a methacrylate ester monomer, (ii) 20-50wt.% of a maleimide monomer, (iii) 0-20wt.% of an armoatic vinyl monomer and (iv) 0-20wt.% of another copolymerizable monomer and (B) a copolymer produced by copolymerizing 40-90wt.% of the component (i) with 10-60wt.% of the component (iii) and 0-20wt.% of the component (iv). The component A and the component B are mutually thermodynamically compatible, and the component A has a weight-average mol.wt. of 50000-200000. The yellowing degree of a molded product of the component A is preferably ≤3.0.
