Abstract:
PURPOSE: To greatly increase impact strength without lowering rigidity and mechanical properties, by blending a thermoplastic resin with talc whose surface has been treated with a metal coupling agent during crushing.
CONSTITUTION: 50W97wt% thermoplastic resin is blended with 50W3wt% talc whose surface has been treated with a metal coupling agent during crushing. As the coupling agent, titanium or aluminum coupling agent is preferred. The surface of talc is treated by using 0.05W2pts.wt. metal coupling agent per 100pts. wt. talc. The treated talc has an average particle size of 0.3W3μ.
