To improve the printing properties such as print density of a thermosensitive recording material by adding a specific quantity of fatty acid metal salt as flux in a thermosensitive recording material consisting of a thermosensitive coloring layer provided on a support of neutral paper and a protecting layer containing a water-soluble resin, pigment and lubricant laminated on the thermosensitive coloring layer.
This thermosensitive recording material comprises a thermosensitive coloring layer containing leuco dye and a color developer provided on a support of neutral paper and a protecting layer containing a water- soluble resin, pigment and lubricant. In addition, at most 2.0wt.% of fatty-acid metal salt as flux are added for the total solid component. Alternatively, a calcium ion trapping agent is added with the fatty-acid metal salt, and organic dibasic acid is used as the calcium ion trapping agent. Further, the fatty-acid metal salt is added as the flux, and the content of calcium ion to be added to the neutral paper is set at 1000ppm or less(JIS K0101 Atomic Absorptiometry).
