The thermostat device 1 includes: a thermostat 10 switching the flow direction of cooling water in accordance with cooling water temperature; a cover 41 covering the thermostat 10, and through which cooling water heading from the outside to a main valve V1 of the thermostat 10 flows: and a pipe 47 obliquely provided to the cover 41 with respect to the operational axis line L1 direction of the thermostat 10, and through which cooling water heading from the outside to the cover 41 flows. In a side cross-sectional view, the angle formed between a plane cross section S1 perpendicular to the operational axis line L1 of the thermostat 10, including the main valve V1, and a first inner surface 43a of the cover 41 between the pipe 47 and the thermostat 10 is 90° or more.
