Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a thermoplastic mixture which contains a polymer formed from styrene (or its deriv.), acrylonitrile, methyl methacrylate, etc., and having terminal thioalkyl groups, specified sulfur content and viscosity, and a flowability better than that of an ABS resin.
CONSTITUTION: This thermoplastic mixture contains a polymer which has terminal 1-18C thioalkyl groups, a sulfur content of 1.15-3.95 wt.%, and an intrinsic viscosity of 2-15 ml/g and is formed from (A) 5-80 pts.wt. graft polymer formed by grafting 5-90 pts.wt. mixture consisting of 50-90 wt.% styrenic compd. (e.g. styrene, α-methylstyrene, or a nuclearly substd. styrene), methyl methacrylate, etc., and 50-10 wt.% acrylonitrile, methyl methacrylate, etc., onto 95-10 pts.wt. rubber having a glass transition temp. of 10°C or lower, (B) 5-95 pts.wt. copolymer formed from 50-95 wt.% styrenic compd., methyl methacrylate, etc., and 50-5 wt.% acrylonitrile, methyl methacrylate, etc., and having a mol.wt. of 15,000-200,000, and (C) a styrenic compd., acrylonitrile, methyl methacrylate, etc.
