Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new thiazole simulant compound inhibiting tyrosinase activity which has strong influence on biosynthesis of melanin, and useful as bleaching cosmetics.
SOLUTION: This new compound is expressed by formula I {wherein a ring X is a compound of formula II (wherein R1 is H, a halogen, a lower alkyl or the like) or III (wherein R2 is H, a halogen, a lower alkyl or the like); Y is a cyclic amino or is expressed by formula IV [wherein (n) is 1 to 5; R3 is expressed by formula V (wherein R4 and R5 are each H or a lower alkyl)]}, and is e.g. D [4-(2-benzothiazolylthio)butoxy]phenylacetic acid. The compound of formula I is obtained e.g. by treating 2-mercaptobenzothiazole with an alkali metal base (e.g. sodium hydride, etc.), in an inactive solvent (e.g. dimethylformamide, etc.), and then by reaction with p-(4-bromobutoxy) phenylacetic acid.
