Abstract:
To provide a thick steel plate which enhances adhesion of a scale, suppresses or prevents scale peeling at the time of laser irradiation, and accordingly is useful for applying laser cutting, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: There are provided a thick steel plate that includes a steel plate, and a scale formed on the surface of the steel plate, wherein a maximum length in a plate thickness direction of cracks existing in the scale is 50% or less average thickness of the scale, the scale includes a laminar fayalite formed on the interface between the scale and the steel plate, an average thickness of the laminar fayalite is 0.3-2.0 μm, a covering ratio of the interface by the laminar fayalite is 50% or more, the scale further includes a laminar magnetite, an average thickness of the laminar magnetite is 2.0 μm or more, and a thickness deviation of the scale is 0.25 or less; and a method for manufacturing the same.SELECTED DRAWING: None
